FLEX it! Video and Performance Festival

The San Diego Art Institute (SDAI) is pleased to present FLEX IT!, a fun and interactive day-long video and performance event at the Jacobs Center on Saturday, March 21, 2015. The family event will start at 4pm and run through 10pm, and is FREE and open to the public.

Organized by SDAI Executive Director Ginger Shulick Porcella and Adrienne Outlaw, Director of Seed Space in Nashville, FLEX IT! will engage audiences in healthy lifestyle choices and obesity prevention. This collaborative event will feature nationally and internationally exhibited social practice artists, and is part of a year-long performance series called “Jacobs Presents: Cultural Celebrations and Performances” which promote the sharing and learning of diverse art forms and cultures. Audiences are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and hang out for the whole day. Select activities will be ongoing, such as Adrienne Outlaw’s capture the flag and badminton events and Katya Grokhovsky’s “Slow Dance”. Renowned artist Moira Williams will also be on site baking bread in and adobe oven, and a selection of healthy food trucks will be available for audiences. Videos on the large outdoor screen will begin around 6pm.

Limerick, Omar Lopex,Christian Michaels, Susan O’Malley, Adrienne Outlaw, Leung Mee Ping, PDW, Alice Vogler, Gary Walker, and Moira Williams.
