deliberate distortions: jazz in today’s art is an exhibition of both visual and audio art running from September 1 – 26, 2015 at The Studio Door (San Diego, CA). The Studio Door is seeking the sights and sounds that create a portrait of jazz. As an American art form, jazz has always found its power in spontaneity, personal experience and collaboration. Transforming over the course of a century, the sound is heard in a wide variety of styles, sometimes within the same performance. Show us adjacent possibilities where music and visual art collide.
